The Bible warns us in 2 Peter 3:3-4 that there will be scoffers who do not believe we are in the last days no matter what they hear or see around them.

Do you know any scoffers? Are YOU one of them?

Verses 8-10 in this chapter state: But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent. But the day of the Lord will come as unexpectedly as a thief. Then the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the very elements themselves will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be found to deserve judgment.

So what do we do NOW?

Verses 11-14 warn us about the importance of NOW: Since everything around us is going to be destroyed like this, what holy and godly lives you should live, looking forward to the day of God and hurrying it along. On that day, he will set the heavens on fire, and the elements will melt away in the flames. But we are looking forward to the new heavens and the new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness. And so, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.

Whew . . . holy, godly, pure and blameless?

Yes—but this is possible ONLY through Christ. For only through Christ does God see any of us as holy, godly, pure and blameless. Salvation is not a game of works. According to Romans 10:9-10If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. We must BELIEVE to BECOME, and when IN CHRIST, we ARE the “righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:2).

Are these end-time signs easy to see?

YES—if you want to see, you will see. That’s why God tells us to watch for them. Too many of God’s people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge  (Hosea 4:6a). But the Word provides clarity to all who seek it. Jesus says end-time signs are easy to recognize: “Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near” (Matthew 24:28).

What are these end-time signs?

You can begin your quest for answers in Matthew 24 where the entire chapter consists of Jesus’ response to this question: “What sign will signal your return and the end of the world?”

Then I recommend you study the recent series of blogs posted by my Pastor at Victory Church. This series of messages (links below) will help you understand what the books of Matthew and Revelation say about end-time signs and how they go hand-in-hand. But—most importantly—with your new understanding, you will recognize how the world has lined up to produce these signs Jesus prophesied about over two thousand years ago.

Today CHOOSE knowledge!

Whatever you do, do NOT be caught unaware of end-time events. They are happening TODAY. Read the material, follow along in your Bible, take notes and trust God for wisdom and insight. Choose knowledge, make every day count for God and watch for those signs.
